RE: How to Write Your Book - FAST!

Dear Soon-to-be Author,

That book you've been wanting to write, been meaning to write... now you can do it... AND complete it quicker than you've ever imagined. How'd you like to start today and have it done by Sunday, July 01, 2012 .

Look, I know how hard it is to get started writing if you haven't done it before. There are a million outside distractions. There's work... family... social obligations... the kids' school events... spending a little time with your friends. Seems like there's always something.

Then There's Our Own Thinking

Which of these have you said to yourself?

I don't know how to start

Maybe I'm not cut out for that

My family and friends would make fun of me

It costs thousands to publish a book

 I don't have any connections

 Writing a book takes forever

I spent years telling myself things like that. But you know what? Every one of those objections turned out to be not true.

I did finally write my first book, so obviously it WAS possible to start (and I'm going to share my knowledge with you).

Also, now that I've written four more books, it's clear that actually I AM cut out for being a writer (and you almost certainly are too).

Nobody ever made fun of me. In fact, it was just the opposite. When I tell people that I write books and sell them on the Internet, I get real respect... yes, even from my friends and family.

Writing my books and setting up sales pages didn't require any kind of connections (and I can't remember now why I ever thought it would). That excuse about connections was totally false. At no time did a lack of "connections" stop me nor even slow me down.

Money? It didn't cost me thousands of dollars. Not even hundreds. Ready for a shocker? Writing a book is nearly free. And marketing it doesn't cost much more.

But best of all, it didn't take forever... not even close. I discovered that - if you're organized and have a system - you can write your book (a serious book of between one and two hundred pages - or even more) within days.

Yep, Write Your Book in DAYS, Not Months or Years

To prove that the Rocket Write system works I decided to write a book fast on how to write a book fast. That book, titled Makin' Book, totals 110 pages and it took me a couple of weeks. And frankly, that was two weeks of easy, part-time days.

The first time I ever used this full system was back in 2004. That was a self-help book, and the project was a bit more ambitious, at 70,000 words and 260 pages, so although it took a little longer, it was still pretty fast.

How fast? How about 12 days? Back then, I was still running my home business in Japan, so I set aside one day a week to work on the book. One day, one chapter. 12 weeks, 12 chapters. But I could just as easily have written that 70,000 word book in 12 consecutive days.

That's fast. And the best part is, anybody can use this system.

If You've Been Wanting to Write Your Own Book...

I've been writing and selling my books online for just about ten years now, and some of my readers have been with me since the very start. That's loyalty, and you're likely to discover the same kind of loyalty in your own readers, once you get going. Just give them good, solid, useful information that helps them make their life better or more enjoyable, and you'll have a faithful friend for many years to come.

So why do you want to write a book? Every person's reason is different, but if you have the writing urge, you'll already have a good idea what's urging you forward.

Of course you're also wondering - isn't there a registration fee? What's it going to cost to get into this class?

Well, as with everything, price and value are always relative. They really depend on what you get for your money.

So what DO you get?

Briefly, what each participant will receive each week is:

  1. The text instruction in a PDF document,
  2. A 10 to 15-minute audio (or screen capture video where appropriate)
  3. A 60-minute coaching Q&A group conference call, and
  4. My personal coaching via direct email to ask any questions as they come up.
  5. And I won't load you up with a bunch of boring instructional material...
Only what you need to get the job done.

And I WILL answer your questions. My promise is that no question will be dropped till you're satisfied you understand the answer.

What each participant will need to bring to the mix is a commitment to go the distance plus 6 to 12 hours each week for the six-week period. In other words, this will be the equivalent of taking a part-time job for 6 weeks. Except, the work you produce? You end up owning it. That book you write will be exclusively yours.

You Can Start Your Class Within Minutes...

Your schedule will look like this:

Week 1:

This is the research and planning phase. I'll show you how to do keyword research if you're writing non-fiction or how-to, and for fiction I'll suggest ways to quickly pull your plot together into a logical, gap-free flow.

One of the biggest dangers is going into the project with your mind already closed about your subject matter. You love the idea, you've been rolling it around in your mind for months or years, and you're convinced it's a winner. But just because you love that book idea, there's no guarantee anybody else will ever want to read it.

So I'll show you how to take that idea of yours, examine it from new angles, and find one that will be the most popular with readers. (Here's a tip: if nobody likes your book but you, nobody'll buy your book.) You don't want to write an orphan, and I don't want you to.

So it's important to know who your reader is - REALLY know him or her - and understand exactly what their questions are.

Week 2:

More research if it's needed. Of course, if you already know your topic inside and out, then you can start writing sooner.

About research - it's possible to over-research the thing. The best and most practical approach is to learn as much as you need for beginning. So you start writing. Then, as you go forward, you'll discover the holes in your knowledge that need to be filled. Writing and researching to fill the (small) remaining holes is the most practical approach.

Another tip: don't try to write the ultimate book on your subject. If you want to cover the topic in that depth, it's better to break it into sections and write several books. This gives the reader a chance to learn just the part that they need to know right now, and they can study another aspect of the subject later.

It also gives you more opportunities to sell more books to your readers. Can you say "higher profits"?

Weeks 3 - 5:

Writing. I'll be there every step of the way to answer your questions, make suggestions, coach you, and generally keep things flowing smoothly.

Each week we'll have a one-hour Q&A conference call (which will be recorded for download if you miss it). In addition, you'll have my personal email address, so if something comes up between conference calls, you can fire off an email to me.

In addition, since this is the phase when many writers discover their so-called "mental blocks." I have an armload of techniques and methods to share with you that can very simply dissolve, delete and destroy anything that gets in your creative way, before it even slows you down. I'll be making my knowhow in this area available to you, so you'll not only learn how to write books, you'll also discover ways to manage your mind more effectively.

Think lifetime skills.

Week 6:

This is when we do the proofreading, editing and formatting of the final manuscript and then turn it into a downloadable PDF document. If you want to offer your book for sale on the Internet, the PDF format is the overwhelming long-time favorite of ebook buyers.

While the Rocket Write workshop won't go into the details of websites or marketing and promoting, we'll discuss some of the general requirements and simple ways to set things up to get sales started.

WHAT YOU'LL GET:

After 6 weeks You'll Have...
  1. Crafted a vivid description and gut-level understanding of your target reader
(you’ll know your reader as well as you know your best friend)

  2. A clear understanding of the information your readers are starving to read
(you’ll know and understand exactly what they crave more of)

  3. A long list of very real benefits your ebook will provide for your readers
(this will eventually form the foundation of your sales page)

  4. Crafted a powerful book title and subtitle
(they’ll grab your reader’s attention and won’t let 'em go)

  5. A complete outline to guide you through the process of writing your ebook
(so you’ll never get lost, or stall midway through the process)

  6. Your ebook completely written
(That's the point of this entire program – a completed manuscript)

  7. Then you'll proofread, format and turn it into a PDF ebook
(Ready for emailing to friends, or posting for download on the Internet)

Consider - you're going to carry these skills with you through the rest of your life. And all your subsequent books will be far easier and faster to write because of them.

What You'll Need to Supply:

Time and sitting.

You'll need to put in a certain amount of time each week to keep your project moving forward. How much time? Okay, no sugar coating - this'll involve some work. Realistically, you can expect to spend anywhere from 8 to 12 hours each week. Some weeks'll be more, some weeks'll be less, but that's about average.

Do you have an hour or two per day to invest in becoming a successful writer? If so, you're good to go. Or maybe your weekdays are full but you have weekends free. That's good too.

But if you'd be constantly short of time, or if you can't make yourself sit down and do it, then it would be better to skip the class. Getting partway through your book, and discovering that you just don't have the hours to spend will only frustrate you. (And me too.)

Also, do you generally finish the things you start? If yes, that's good. The reason most people don't become writers is because they can't put their butt in their chair for long enough to get the job done.

It's like the old truism - Writers write; non-writers go do anything else.

So if you're fairly sure you can manage this for the next six weeks, welcome aboard. I truly am eager to work with you.

Now, maybe you don't have enough time right now, but you figure you'll sign up, save all the material then go through it later, perhaps a few months from now, when you have more time. Yes, you could do it that way.

But realistically, most people don't ever follow through on all those programs they bought "for someday" or "just in case." Mostly it's all still sitting there, unused, on their hard drive.

My no-BS advice to you is, if you're considering signing up, but don't intend to write your book until some future date... please don't. Either skip this workshop and save your money, or resolve to wade in, gut on through it and write your book now.

Registration Fee:

Future classes will cost attendees more - up to $600 depending on the promotion - but since we're still in pre-launch, for a short while the price is only $255, which includes my coaching through the entire six weeks).

Once this workshop is publicly launched, the price will go up (meaning that now is an excellent time to get in, before the pre-launch ends).

So, Will This Work for Your Subject Matter?

Actually, yes it will. If you could watch a hundred different professional writers all putting words on paper (or on a display screen), you'd discover that the actual process is remarkably similar from one writer to the next. They think of the words that express what they want to say, and they type them into their computer. They do that every day, day after day, until the words pile up into a book.

If you've read any interviews with writers, you've probably noticed that each has his or her own quirky idiosyncracies, or unique ways of arranging their days. It's like little rituals they go through to put them into the "writing frame of mind."

But truthfully, those are "Getting-Ready-to-Write" rituals. Look a little deeper and you'll see that once they start, each writer does the same job. They assemble words. They may do it gracefully, even beautifully, but it's all just words... typing. It's no different (in substance) from the emails you write every day.

So of course you can do that job too... as long as you don't let yourself get too impressed with the myth that writing is hard. There's a famous quotation about writing: "All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein." But I beg to differ. It ain't that hard... not nearly that hard.

Of course, writers want everyone to believe that their job is the most difficult in the world. (In that respect, they're the same as dentists, plumbers, fishermen, janitors, salesmen and everybody else.)

It doesn't matter whether you're planning to write your memoirs, a novel, a how-to instructional book, or anything else. Fact is, you'll be thinking of what you want to say, then typing it into your computer. That's the basic job description. Nothing more, nothing less. Yes, style is important, but that's a learnable skill.

The important thing is, if you follow a system that makes sure you know in advance every step you're going to take, then you'll be able to move steadily forward, never becoming confused about what comes next, never being unsure of how the pieces of your plan fit together, never feeling a hint of writer's block.  In fact...

You'll End Writer's Block Forever

Writer's block is a myth. But it's a persistent one.

Frankly, only a couple of things can cause you to stop writing. One is not knowing enough about your subject. The cure for that is more research (that's research, not endless, aimless reading).

The other cause is weak planning - not knowing what step comes next. This is fixed by going back to your outline (or plot) and thinking it through more thoroughly. Anybody who writes without planning is just begging for "writer's block."

In other words, if you know your subject well and have a good, solid plan, there's never a reason to be "blocked."

And if you have a tendency to slow down or stop because of self-doubt issues, I also share with you several quick, effective ways to dissolve them and clear your thinking before they can do your book any damage.

By the way, self doubts are common anytime we first tackle a new activity. It's no disgrace to experience such feelings. Everybody has them, so it's perfectly normal. And knowing this, you'll be prepared to look your doubts or fears right in the eye and blow straight through them. That's a good feeling.

The name for that feeling is confidence, and confidence is an important part of what you'll gain from the Rocket Write workshop.

So tell me... what's it worth to write one book, and come away from the class with the ability to write another book, and then another, as often and as many as you want?

I admit, the price is a little too low for mastering this level of skill. But the workshop won't ever be this affordable again, because this is a special pre-launch introductory promotion. It'll end soon.

And the in the near future, the price will be higher.

Remember, this workshop begins as soon as you register.

So what do you think? Probably ought to grab this now, while it's affordable?
